Board Of Directors

Greg Less, Board President

Greg Less has been serving on the Board of Directors since 2003, providing expertise in finance, marketing, and executive leadership.  He works for Northrop Grumman as a Business Development and Marketing manager.  His background includes Masters degrees in Engineering and in Business Administration from the University of Southern California, and work as an aerospace engineer and a pilot.

Ethan Grumbach, Vice-President

Ethan M. Grumbach, Ph.D. has been serving on the Board of Directors since 1997, providing his expertise in Mental Health Issues and Nonprofit management.  He is a psychoanalyst who works with infants, adolescents and adults in Los Angeles.  He also is a founding member of Thrive Infant and Family Program which provides Psychoanalytic Early Intervention to Premature Infants and Full Term Infants along with their family.  Dr. Grumbach is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association where he Chairs the Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, the International Psychoanalytic Association, The New Center for Psychoanalysis and the National Association of Social Work. 

Vi Ballard, Secretary

Vi Ballard, M.A.,MFT, serves on the Board of Directors providing her expertise in children’s mental health and nonprofit management.  She works as a mental health professional in her private practice specializing in children and children’s issues as well as helping parents improve their parenting skills. She also works with parents and couples in high conflict divorce. Her background includes a master’s degree in marriage family therapy from Phillips Graduate Institute and she is the coordinator of a court ordered parenting program for high conflict divorcing parents called ‘Better Parenting Better Divorce’.  She is a member of the American Association of Marriage Family Therapy, California Association of Marriage Family Therapy, International Association of Collaborative Professionals, Los Angeles Collaborative Family Law Association, California Association of Family and Conciliation Courts.
Her interests include tennis, golf, her family, her dog, and traveling.

Amy McCabe Heibel, Member

Amy Heibel recently joined the C4K Board of Directors, providing her expertise in fundraising and executive leadership. She works for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art as a manager in their education department, and she has held several senior-level positions in arts organizations. Her background includes a graduate degree in political science from UC Berkeley and an undergraduate degree from Scripps College. She is a foster/adoptive parent with experience with older children in foster care. Her interests include surfing, traveling and advocacy on behalf of foster youth.

Matthew Yu, Member

Matthew Yu has been serving on the Board of Directors since November 2009.  He provides his experience and expertise in Charitable Giving and Fundraising. Matthew is a partner at the Law Firm of Fitzpatrick & Yu.  His firm specializes in Probates, Conservatorships, and Estate Planning.  He received his Juris Doctor degree from Whittier Law School.  Matthew has dedicated his time working with non-profit organizations including, the Harbor Regional Center, Bet Tzedek, Whittier Lanterman Clinic and his local church.  His interests are spending time with the family, triathlons, working out, cooking, and traveling.

Sheldon Brackett, Member

Sheldon has been serving on the Board of Directors since February 2010, providing his expertise in nonprofit management, executive leadership and community organizing.  His background includes a degree in Computer Information Systems.  He has worked in several private industries and for a local municipality serving infants, toddlers and impoverished families.  He currently serves on the Board of Covenant Blessing Fellowship and volunteers his time to help those underserved throughout various communities.  His interests include spending time with his family, travel, cooking, racquetball, investing in children, and mentoring youth.

Danny Ly, Member

Danny Ly has been serving on the Board of Directors since January 2010, providing expertise in finance, corporate governance, and business management.  He works for Capital Group as an Operations and Accounting Manager.  His background includes a Business and Accounting degree from UCLA and a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California.  Danny also worked in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he gained nonprofit experience through serving numerous nonprofit clients.  He is also a member of the Finance committee for the LA Junior Chamber of Commerce.  His interests include traveling, snowboarding, bowling, working out, and home improvement. 

R. Marcia Gould, Member

R. Marcia Gould has been serving on the Board of Directors since August 2010, providing her expertise in accounting and finance.  She retired from Capital Research and Management Company (CRMC) as a Vice President of the Fund Business Management Group and treasurer of several mutual funds advised by CRMC, including EuroPacific Growth Fund, Capital World Growth and Income Fund and Capital Income Builder Fund.  Her background includes a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, (emphasis in Accounting) from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a Master’s in Taxation from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, and she worked over 30 years in the public accounting and financial services industries.  She is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). She is a member of the Board of The Santa Monica Bay Sailing Foundation and Santa Monica Chorus Sweet Adelines.  Her interests include boating, singing and serving her community.
