Art Chaparro, President
Danny Ly, Vice PresidentDanny Ly has been serving on the Board of Directors since January 2010, providing expertise in finance, corporate governance, and business management. He works for Capital Group as an Operations and Accounting Manager. His background includes a Business and Accounting degree from UCLA and a Masters in Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California. Danny also worked in public accounting with PricewaterhouseCoopers where he gained nonprofit experience through serving numerous nonprofit clients. He is also a member of the Finance committee for the LA Junior Chamber of Commerce. His interests include traveling, snowboarding, bowling, working out, and home improvement. Marcia Gould, Treasurer
R. Marcia Gould has been serving on the Board of Directors since August 2010, providing her expertise in accounting and finance. She retired from Capital Research and Management Company (CRMC) as a Vice President of the Fund Business Management Group and treasurer of several mutual funds advised by CRMC, including Euro Pacific Growth Fund, Capital World Growth and Income Fund and Capital Income Builder Fund. Her background includes a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, (emphasis in Accounting) from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio and a Master's in Taxation from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia, and she worked over 30 years in the public accounting and financial services industries. She is a Certified Public Accountant (inactive). She is a member of the Board of The Santa Monica Bay Sailing Foundation and Santa Monica Chorus Sweet Adelines. Her interests include boating, singing and serving her community.
Sheldon Brackett, Member
Sheldon has been serving on the Board of Directors since February 2010, providing his expertise in nonprofit management, executive leadership and community organizing. His background includes a degree in Computer Information Systems. He has worked in several private industries and for a local municipality serving infants, toddlers and impoverished families. He currently serves on the Board of Covenant Blessing Fellowship and volunteers his time to help those underserved throughout various communities. His interests include spending time with his family, travel, cooking, racquetball, investing in children, and mentoring youth.
Amber MacMiller, M.A., MFT, Secretary
Amber is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. She has an undergraduate degree from Loyola Marymount University and her masters from Pepperdine University, both in clinical psychology. Amber has worked in community based programs for over fifteen years including a runaway and drop-in shelter in Hollywood, multiple residential treatment facilities throughout the Los Angeles area, a hospital counseling center specializing in childhood sexual abuse and family issues, as well as a non-public junior and senior high school. She brings to the board practical experience and knowledge about children and adolescents who have either been in or through public and privately funded treatment. She currently is in private practice specializing in Psychodynamic psychotherapy and volunteers within her community teaching "Safeguard the Children" classes. She is a clinical member of CAMFT. Amber enjoys spending time with her three very active children and her husband.
Emeritus Board Member Ethan M. Grumbach
Ethan M. Grumbach, Ph.D. has been serving on the Board of Directors since 1997, providing his expertise in Mental Health Issues and Nonprofit management. He is a psychoanalyst who works with infants, adolescents and adults in Los Angeles. He also is a founding member of Thrive Infant and Family Program which provides Psychoanalytic Early Intervention to Premature Infants and Full Term Infants along with their family. Dr. Grumbach is a member of the American Psychoanalytic Association where he Chairs the Committee on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Issues, the International Psychoanalytic Association, The New Center for Psychoanalysis and the National Association of Social Work. |
